Seppi + Colleen Colorado Elopement
When Seppi and Colleen first reached out to me and said they were planning an intimate elopement in the mountains, I couldn’t WAIT to work with them! Southwest Colorado is one of my favorite places on earth and elopements are my favorite kind of wedding.
The happy couple visited Durango a number of times and wanted to start their married lives together in the mountains surrounding the town. It honestly doesn’t get more “Colorado” than an adventure elopement! Their ceremony took place near Andrews Lake in the San Juan Mountain range and it was stunning. The late summer day was warm and lovely and the mountains were full of wildflower blooms! It was really the perfect day for an adventurous, mountain-loving couple like Seppi and Colleen.
The two brought their children along to witness the elopement and celebrate with them. I loved getting to see their kids officially come together as a family and cheer on their parents. The girls carried mini versions of their mom's wildflower bouquet and the boys donned the same vest and boutonniere as their dad.
After exchanging vows, the couple and their family celebrated with a mountain picnic! Their elopement planners set the whole thing up and it was a great way to relax after the excitement of the day. The spot where they got married near Andrews Lake is between Durango and Silverton on the famous “Million Dollar Highway,” and the views definitely lived up to the name. Everybody ate and drank happily while surrounded by uninterrupted mountain views. What a dream!
It was such a lovely day for Seppi and Colleen and I’m glad I was able to document it for them. I love getting to be part of adventurous elopements such as this!
